The Y Columbia Swim Club here offers training and practice groups for swimmers of all ages and ability levels. It is the goal of the Y Columbia Swim Club here to offer age specific training for all of our athletes geared towards challenging each individual and developing each individual to the best of THEIR abilities.

EVERYONE'S A WINNER!
We are committed to enabling each swimmer to meet his or her potential. Swimmers are encouraged to participate in meets competing against other swim teams.
TRAINING GROUPS
The following training groups have been developed to place each swimmer in the appropriate entry level. These groups are designed to allow each swimmer to become a "finished product" before they take the next step up the ladder of competitive swimming. Each level progresses at different speeds and has different goals.
Bronze - Group meets twice a week for one hour and works on the findamentals of swimming.
Silver - Group meets twice a week for one hour and works on the four competitive strokes. (Freestyle, Breaststroke, Backstroke, and Butterfly)
Gold - Group meets three time a week for one hour and works on the four competitive strokes. Proper technique with time devoted to starts, turns and competitive training are emphasized. (Freestyle, Breaststroke, Backstroke, and Butterfly)
Junior - Group meets five times a week for one hour and fourty five minutes. Strokes, starts and turns are refined while aerobic training is introduced. This group is designed for our top younger swimmers and will be devoted to preparing them for the next level of competitive swimming.
Senior - Group meets five times a week for two hours. Strokes, starts and turns are further refined. Proper training techniques are introduced to prepare the swimmer for advanced levels of competition. Must be a minimum of 11 years old.
